#9 – PAYMENT PROGRAMME FOR EBOLA RESPONSE WORKERS – SIERRA LEONE

One key element in the success of the response is the retention of formal health sector personnel, para-sector personnel (including burial personnel), community engagement agents, including volunteers, and more likely the security personnel (in particular the police). It is essential to ensure that Ebola Response Workers (ERWs) are paid regularly and in timely manner.

This proposal is the Sierra Leone component of the UN regional support to ensuring payment of Ebola workers. The proposal will:

• Setting up and operating effective Information Management System related to ERW payments;
• Support the government in setting up a robust payment mechanism covering necessary geographies and payment streams for ERWs and subsequently for Ebola survivors and families of Ebola victims.

Develop an emergency preparedness plan ready to be activated in case of collapse of existing payment mechanisms
