This project aims to address the urgent need to maintain the cholera alert-response mechanism in 2018, while strengthening DINEPA capacities. The geographical focus of this additional funding is the Ouest department, which is the most populated  of Haiti and one that plays a key role in the transmission of the disease in the event of an uncontrolled outbreak. Its geographic location also allows to set-up flexible teams, as it is centrally located, enabling nationwide deployment to reinforce local response as it has been done recently in Artibonite and Centre.
