Inter-agency pooled funds administered by the UN Multi-Partner Trust Fund Office serve broad, multi-stakeholder partnerships for tackling specific and complex development problems and advancing the Sustainable Development Goals. Fund partners normally involve UN entities and governments, but often extend to other multilateral organizations, foundations, NGOs, and the private sector.
The genuine success of a pooled trust fund comes from the results collectively generated by stakeholders, whether they are contributors, participating entities or organizations, or programme country representatives. Pooling investments and action through multi-partner trust funds reduces the number of fragmented interventions and contributes to joint outcome results far better than other mechanisms.
