About

#8 – PAYMENT PROGRAMME FOR EBOLA RESPONSE WORKERS – LIBERIA

The Ebola Response Plan highlights the crucial need for workers involved in the Ebola response to be paid in a timely manner.

This proposal is the Liberia component of the UN regional support to ensuring payment of Ebola workers. The proposal will:

  • Manage information to ensure payments of workers are tracked, recorded, are in-line with Government harmonized pay scales, and any gaps in human resource availability can be quickly identified and filled.
  • Provide technical advice to government and partners, to strengthen existing payment mechanisms
  • Pay 436 contact tracers and supporting mobile tracing, through a UN payment mechanism, that will allow development partners, as required, to channel financial resources to Ebola workers in a cost effective, accountable and timely manner
