About
Cambodia’s MPTF project “Enhancing Governance and Coordination Mechanisms to Reduce Antimicrobial Resistance in Cambodia” has a strong focus on strengthening the governance, coordination and policy dialogue between and within ministries, regulating antimicrobial use in the human and animal health sector as well as increasing public awareness and advocacy about AMR. The proposed MPTF proposal activities are in line with the country’s Multi-Sectoral Action Plan (2019-2023) on AMR which urges for a collaborative, coherent, comprehensive and integrated approach towards prevention and containment of AMR. Initiated in January 2021, the project will last for 24 months until December 2022 and is being implemented under a One Health approach by WHO, FAO, OIE, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Ministry of Environment, as well as academia and non-governmental stakeholders.
