Project Description:

Capacity development of the Metrological Office and the reform of the land tenure system.


Development Goal and Key Outcomes:

Strengthen the governance of natural resources and environment with particular emphasis on a) water, land use, land cover and alternative livelihoods; b) capacity building for the new Environmental Protection Agency, Forestry Division, Meteorological Directorate and associated Government units; and c) improved natural resource allocation and urban planning on the Western peninsula.



-       Climate change adaption plan developed, well coordinated and operationalised

-       Digitization of climate data using climosoft database system

-       Capacity development of the metrological office data collection and analysis

-       Land tenure policy that is supportive of sustainable natural resource management operational
