The first phase of a joint programme on education for girls in Malawi, the Malawi Girls’ Education Joint Programme (JPGE) reduced poverty in targeted districts by providing quality education and life skills for adolescent girls. An inclusive, intersectional approach was used to address the issues that affecting girls’ access to education and ability to stay in school.
