This guidance note aims to support Member States in integrating human rights into the development of Voluntary National Reviews on the 2030 Agenda. It provides practical suggestions on how to maximize synergies between human rights and sustainable development reporting processes and culminates in an eight-step checklist for practitioners with related resources and tools.
This guidance was jointly developed by UNDP and OHCHR in collaboration with partners across the UN system under the Secretary-General’s Call to Action for Human Rights and with support from the Human Rights Mainstreaming Fund and is intended as a complementary resource to the UN DESA Handbook for the Preparation of Voluntary National Reviews and the UN Secretary-General’s Voluntary Common Reporting Guidelines for Member States.
