About
CHF-DMA-0489-133 “Emergency preparedness and response to pregnancy and child birth complications in IDPs in three regions (Hiraan, Galgadud & Mudug) of Somalia.Jan-Dec 2011” – 500,000$ The 3 regions of Galgadud, Hiran and Mudug (south Galkayo) are recently considered to have better access to NGOs compared to other regions in south part of Somalia. These regions are hosting an estimated 283,967 IDPs who are in dire need of health services including maternal and neonatal health as they are severely under served. This project is expected to have direct contribution through (i) improving skills and knowledge of midwives in the area; (ii) provision of essential kits and supplies and (iii) developing a clear connection between the levels of care to facilitate referral from Maternity home to MCH and to the hospital. This project is expected to reduce the suffering of women particularly women of reproductive age as a result of pregnancy & child birth complications through utilizing the current capacity of health personnel and local partners. Also this project is built on existing interventions and existing staff capacities. Recent Documents
