This project is intended to support on an interim basis, the efforts of the Secretary-General to implement Security Council resolutions 1820 and 1888, principally through the immediate establishment and staffing of the Office of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General (OSRSG) on Sexual Violence in Conflict.  It is intended to ensure that the SRSG can begin to implement her mandate as derived from SCR 1820 and 1888 and the commitments of the Secretary-General as contained in his Report to the Council on implementation of SCR 1820 (S/2009/362).  The project will support the operations of OSRSG over a four-month period (March-June 2010) pending allocation of funding from the regular budget of the United Nations by the General Assembly for longer-term support to the OSRSG.
