About
The Joint Program on Health and Population JPC4 Health System Strengthening: JPC4 Health System Strengthening activities in 2010 included a countrywide study of different health professionals, looking at numbers, salary, job satisfaction and capacities. Consultation meetings were held to follow up on progress on continuous professional development. The first annual report of the Health System Strengthening and Policy Unit (HSSPU) was produced, and a PC-1 for the Unit approved, thereby bringing it within the government system and ensuring its sustainability. Technical support in the form of program officers was provided to the Ministry of Health and provincial departments. Consultancy support was provided to review drugs legislation in Pakistan and protocols for clinical trials, and to develop a coordination and facilitation mechanism for HRH, and a national HRH strategy and plan.
