Project Description:

Provision for reproductive health services has been identified by the Maoist Army as well as UN and donor partners as a major gap in the services in the Maoist divisions. Through this project, UNFPA will respond to this gap by ensuring deployment of gynaecologists.  


Development Goal:

The project responds to UN Strategic Priorities for Peacebuilding:

  • Conflict prevention and reconciliation; Reintegration and cantonments; Support for discharge/reintegration/reconciliation.

and contributes to:

  • Recovery; Accelerated recovery; Initiatives focusing on women and children’s special needs in relation to conflict affected groups

Immediate Objective:

Improved conditions for those in divisions.


Outputs and Key Activities:

Increased utilization of health services, particularly reproductive health services, in the divisions.
