About
The IU contributes to achievement of international standards in higher education through recommendations for a national institutional mechanisms for quality assurance and accreditation. In the transition to MIC status, as donor support diminishes, Viet Nam will be required to develop viable economic solutions. Currently, the Viet Nam's GoV aims to enhance knowledge emerging based economy thus supporting high-tech enterprise and industry addressed. development. This knowledge base is only viable with strong, internationally-accepted, higher education institutions. 1. 2. SEDP 2011-2015 - p. 95: Developing university education in two trends: development research and applied profession; applying advanced training programs of reliable universities in the world. - p. 95 Building a system to verify educational quality independently; verifying public and private educational institutions and publishing the verifying results; ranking educational and training institutions and publishing the result on mass media. The IU will contribute to MDG 1 as it will allow for preparation for better qualified professionals that can establish better socio-economic models. UNESCO will provide the MOET with assistance to identify best practices and a model to manage and deliver achievement of national quality assurance in higher education. Several national and an international workshop will provide explanation and reference to platforms for the discussions on the best options. Capacity building of MOET to install and manage the system will take place. Universities in Vietnam willing to undergo piloting in quality assurance will be linked to UNESCO portal on Higher Education. The programme will assist the government in raising the quality of higher education especially in the view of the large number of private and foreign higher education institutions offering their services since Vietnam's entry to WTO.
