Project Description:

The project contributes to facilitate the access of victims of crime, especially women, children, and adolescents, to integral attention services improving information and communication challenges.  Making use of institutional plans, civil society organizations’ networks of derivation, and UN agencies expertise in matters of victim support, the project will increase access to victimological attention, security measures, and criminal prosecution services. This is a crucial element in the consolidation of peace in the country given that it provides stronger channels for state response to the effects of violence and crime, an objective contribution to fulfilling the Peace Accords and other policy documents, and that enhances the understanding that the state is growing stronger to deal with matters of insecurity that critically affect the population.

PBF Outcome:

Judiciary system is strengthened through equipping, staffing and training of Office of the Magistrate and courts to establish credibility, professionalism, independence, and efficiency in the judiciary system and inclusive law reform in order to institute rule of law.

Key Project Activities:

1. Implementation of information and communication mechanisms on victims’ rights, with a particular emphasis on women, children and adolescents, and culturally pertinent.
2. Expansion of the geographic coverage of the mechanisms for integral attention to victims, especially women and children, including monitoring and evaluation systems.
3. Implementation of the integral attention model specific for victims of human trafficking offenses, especially women, children and adolescents.
4. Institutionalization of formative (education), and support processes directed to the Prosecutor General’s Office’s staff to guarantee integral attention to victims of crimes.
