  The Joint-Project will contribute to an enabling environment and the institutional foundation required for gender sensitive peacebuilding in Central Terai region of Nepal. The overarching objective is to consolidate the gains of women's local peacebuilding efforts by improving and enhancing service delivery to conflict affected women and budgetary allocation for local resources which will further contribute to the implementation of NAP in municipalities and select VDCs The project will focus on enhancing gender responsive planning and budgeting at the local level for better implementation and monitoring of National Action Plan on women, peace and security (UNSCRs 1325 and 1820 which include: governance, security, and recovery). Through this pilot initiative the project intends to provide a model for the government for subsequent replication which can eventually contribute to enhanced demand and supply for better aligning commitments to achieve gender responsive local development planning with women peace and security agenda.
