About
Ghana’s One Health AMR MPTF Project aims to strengthen national surveillance and data analysis capacity, support the development of biosecurity standards, improve prudent antimicrobial use as well as design communication and awareness raising activities. The activities outlined in the MPTF project will be implemented through existing systems and ongoing initiatives and are closely linked to the objectives of the country’s AMR National Action Plan (2018-2022). The aspiration of the MPTF is to ensure commitment to the principles of one health (communication, coordination and collaboration) in a holistic manner across human, animal and environmental health in curbing the threat of AMR. The project is being implemented by the Tripartite partners (WHO, FAO, OIE) as well as supporting UN entities, government agencies (among them the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Food and Agriculture, Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development, Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation), academic and research institutions, civil society as well as private sector organizations. Having started in January 2021, the project will conclude in December 2022. Recent Documents
