Briefing on Human Rights for Sustainable Development, co-hosted by the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights and the Human Rights Mainstreaming Fund Secretariat

The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) and the Human Rights Mainstreaming Fund Secretariat co-hosted a virtual briefing on the importance of human rights for sustainable development and the critical contribution of the Human Rights Mainstreaming Fund. The event provided an opportunity for Member States to hear from the High Commissioner for Human Rights an update on the current opportunities and challenges in operationalizing human rights for sustainable development, including through leveraging the development system repositioning and expanding synergies with the Secretary General’s Call to Action and Our Common Agenda. Participants also heard from several Human Rights Advisers on their work with Resident Coordinators, UN Country Teams and national partners.
