About
Project Description: Inter-ethnic dialogue and collaboration is crucial to sustain healthy community relations, social trust and tolerance. The promotion of such dialogue and collaboration requires the encouragement and engagement of central and local government, as well as the participation of a broad and inclusive social spectrum, namely civil society, including religious and community leaders, as well as the media sector. The inclusion and full engagement of these actors and their realization of inter-ethnic dialogue and collaboration can lead to importnat outcomes: it can resolve immediate problems or concerns between ethnic groups on vertical ad horizontal, as well as local and national levels; it can build medium-term trust and consensus between groups while strenghtening democratic governance; and it can increase the ability of society to readdress structural inequalities and to better promote and promote inter-ethnic, inter-religious and inter-cultural understanding, therby reducing the prospect of conflict.
